Carolyn Ann Nesbitt

Carolyn Ann Nesbitt, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at home surrounded by family. Carolyn was born in Russellville, AL on October 16, 1938. She was a graduate of Russellville High School where she was a cheerleader and band member. She was also a graduate of Jefferson State Junior College in Birmingham, AL. Carolyn was also a member of Black Oak Heights Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, R.J. and Evelyn Moody; sisters, Linwood Bruton and Mary Helen Cook; brothers, Bobby, Jack, Earl, Fonny, David, and Jerry Moody.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Gene Nesbitt; daughter, Sherri Waller and husband Marty; sons, Shane Penn and wife Beth, David Nesbitt and wife Sylvia, Patrick Nesbitt and wife Karen, Wil Nesbitt and wife Mindy; grandchildren, Ashley Penn, Jordan Ogles and husband Drew, Dylan Nesbitt, Jackson Penn and wife Rachel, Jennifer Rose, Bridgette Waters and Joey Nesbitt as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Tennova Hospice and Joy Brooks for the care provided.

Carolyn's family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Berry Highland West Funeral Home, 9913 Sherrill Blvd, Knoxville, TN, with a Memorial Service immediately following at 7:00pm with Pastor Todd Stinnett officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America by using the link below.
