Spangler, Carl McKinley (89) of South Knoxville went to be with the Lord Saturday, January 17, 2015. Carl served in the US Navy during WWII. He is preceded in death by parents, William and Myrtle Spangler; sister, Helen Austin; brothers, Paul and Clarence Spangler. He is survived by sister, Juanita Cruze; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of 7th floor South at UT Medical Center for their love and compassion during his illness. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Berry Funeral Home on Chapman Highway. A graveside service will take place at the Chapel of Sherwood Memorial Gardens at 3pm on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 with Rev. David Jeffers officiating.
