Betty Jean Wilkerson

Betty Jean Wilkerson, age 86, of Knoxville, TN passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at the University of TN Hospital after a brief illness. She was born and raised in the hills of Kentucky and moved to the hills of East TN to be with her sisters in the mid 1950's. After moving here, Betty met her husband of 40 years, Jim. She enjoyed being outdoors, walking, her neighborhood community, spending time by her pool, family cookouts and get togethers, flowers and never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune. Most of all, she cherished the time she could spend as Nanny Betty and NanNan to her granddaughters and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband, Jim Wilkerson and sisters, Faye Hull and Wanda Young.

Betty is survived by loving daughter, Lisa Shehan (Wade); granddaughters: Māsee Ramsey (Travis), Madie Coffer (Brandon), Abby Britt (Christian), Arly Shehan and great-grandchildren: Wyatt Ramsey, Hendrix and Harlow Coffer.

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM at Prospect Baptist Church, 519 Prospect Road, Walland, TN.
