Barbara Irene Stevens

Barbara Irene Stevens of Knoxville, TN passed away January 28, 2024 at Autumn Care Assisted Living. She was a graduate of Karns High School and a graduate of The University of Tennessee. She was a teacher for 34 years at Karns and Byington Solway schools. She was a member of Beaver Ridge United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of DAR. She was Grand Marshall for the Karns Fair representing her love of Karns history. She and her husband, Jim welcomed families to their White Pine Acres Christmas Tree Farm for 27 years, sharing joy during the Christmas season. She lit up every room she was in. She loved life and wanted everyone to look for the good in it.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Foster Brown, Jr., and Lillian Irene Walker; brothers, Robert Brown and John Brown and grandson, Groat Morris “Mark” Callaway, III. She is survived by her husband, James “Jim” Lloyd Stevens; children, LoAnn Price (Bill), Morris Callaway, Jr. (Alicia), Tamara Stevens (John) and Mary Callaway Webster (Mitchell); grandchildren, Kaitlin Price King (Matt), Lauren Callaway and Bruin Webster; brothers, Daniel Brown (Alice), David Brown (Rita); sisters-in-law, Donna Brown and Terrie Brown; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Friday, February 2, 2024 from 5-7 pm at Weaver Funeral Home with the service to follow at 7 pm. Pastor Teresa McClure officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 am Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Brimer Cemetery for an 11 am interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beaver Ridge United Methodist Church.
