Shane was a very fun and loving guy who was the life of any gathering with family and friends. He was a “people’s” person, very sociable, musically/vocally talented, friendly and always eager to lend a helping hand or support anyone in need. Many times he would forsake his own needs to help others. Shane was ambitious and very hardworking and loved to keep his hands busy working on projects. He had a contagious laugh, which will never be forgotten.
He was born the youngest son to Booth and Olive Reid. He grew up in Bide Arm NL, till the age of 15, at which time he moved to Kitchener, ON with his family. Shane became a loving dad to a beautiful daughter, Ava, who sadly passed in 2008 at just 7 months of age. On Aug.19, 2011, Shane married Rochelle Hewlett, the love of his life, and someone he doted on since he was just a teen. To this union was born two sons, Lincoln and Alexander. As a family they enjoyed many outdoor activities such as camping, boating, ski-doing, fishing, swimming and even just relaxing around a backyard fire. He was known for being the loudest father cheering on the soccer field. He knew how to make his boys laugh, and was also their biggest fan. Shane’s big bear hugs were comfort to both Rochelle and the boys, and made them feel warm and protected. He will be sadly missed and always in the hearts of the many that called him family or friend!
