Born March 4, 1924 in Dover, England. It is with great sadness our family announces the peaceful passing of Rose on January 19th, 2023 at the Westmount Long Term Care. Rose was predeceased by her beloved husband Anthony (Tony) (2005) of 60 years, her son Bob (2011) and her parents, Lillian and Lenard Smith. Also predeceased by 5 sisters; Barbara, Kathleen, Lillian, Marge and Eileen and 5 brothers; Douglas, Harry, Leonard, John and William.
Rose immigrated to Canada in 1946 as a war bride and devoted her life as a loving mother to her four children. Left to mourn and cherish her memory are her children; Pete (Rosemary), Paul (Dianne) and Donna (Dan) Gillissie, 4 grandchildren; Melanie Boshart, Angela Braby, Lesley Hollatz and Marc Voisin, and 7 great-grandchildren; Brandon, Nicholas and Joshua Boshart, Andrew and Benjamin Braby and Craig (Marie) and Ashlyn Hollatz. Also survived are her brothers in England, George and Ronald Smith. We’ll love you “forever and always”.
Visitation will be held at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S. Kitchener, on Thursday, February 2 from 10:00 – 11:30 am with a funeral liturgy in the chapel at 11:30 am. Burial to follow at Williamsburg Cemetery.
