WIGLEY, Robert Leslie Howard With sadness, Robert's family announces his peaceful passing at home on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the age of 87 years. Robert is survived by his best friend and beloved wife of 63 years, Pamela (nee Chambers) and by his loving daughter, Linda Leffler (Phillip). Proud grandfather of Katherine Pettit (Peter) and Jeff Butler (Angela) and great-grandfather of Sophia, Ella and Cohen Pettit and Scott, Dylan and Trent Butler. Robert will also be fondly remembered by his sister, Pam Graham (Malcolm) in England. Robert was a "Bobby" (policeman) in England and had the honour of guarding the residence of Winston Churchill, and served his country as a radio operator in the Air Force, (even though he was underage). Robert and Pamela came to Canada in 1965, making their home in Kitchener where Robert was the owner of his own repair and maintenance business. Robert's family will receive friends at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre , 1001 Ottawa St. South, on Tuesday evening from 6-7 p.m., with a service celebrating Robert's life to be held at 7 p.m. in the chapel. A reception and time of fellowship will follow. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Alzheimer Society, and can be arranged by contacting the funeral home.
