Randy passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 20, 2021. Randy will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Marilyn (née Hood); sons Chris (Brenda) and Cory (Shannon); grandchildren, who he adored, Megan, Brady and Clara; sister Tanis (Al) in addition to the entire Bender and Hood family with many family members and friends. Randy was predeceased by his sister Sandra Boyd (Neil) and his parents Clayton and Dorothy. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff in the cardio vascular ICU at St. Mary’s Hospital for the exemplary level of care and compassion they provided. Randy’s family will receive relatives and friends at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-742-8900), on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, from 5 – 8 p.m. A private funeral service with interment to follow at Williamsburg Cemetery will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Randy’s memory may be made to St. Mary’s Regional Cardiac Care Centre, 911 Queen’s Blvd., Kitchener, ON N2M 1B2.
