Papa it's been 11 years today since you left your journey. I always think about you and wonder where you went. My heart still hurts when I see your pictures.  Miss you papa.

I miss you very much my Papa. It has been a year today since you left us. I miss picking up the phone to hear your voice and having our regular talks. You were my sounding board and you always guided me towards the right path. You taught me to live an honest and truthful life. Please always know I love you and no one will take your place. Years may come and go but your memory will never be erased. You will live in my heart forever.

Papa a year ha passed and I remember back when you had told me, "Manjit you will forget me and will go on with your life when I pass on".  Papa you are a man of wisdon and I totally respect your values.  Yes, I did go on with my life, as my children made me respect nd remember all that you taught me, my love for life, my love for my culture, my love for my family.  For this I thank you Papa.  But Papa there is one thing that you were definately wrong in saying, I will never forget you.  Each passing day my thoughts are with you! Though absent you are always near, missed, loved and always held dear.  So Papa a year has gone by and your presence I miss, your memory I treasure.  Loving you always, fogetting you never.

You were able to accomplish so much during your time on earth. One of your biggest accomplishments was how you guided and mentored your family. Kuldeep, has been a friend of mine for many years. She is a kind and giving person, a reflection of your values. She has over come many challenges, a reflection of your patience and perseverance. She is such a caring friend, a reflection of your love. You will be sadly missed by all those who have been touched by your life. Rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Grewal about 1 year ago.  Through our many talks his love of teaching shined through.  He was so proud of his many achievements and accomplishments.  He opened many new doors in my life as he brought his culture into mine, teaching me about India and Sikhism.  He loved explaining his history and culture and helping me to understand it.  He loved to teach me his language and we had many laughs over my struggles of these new words.  Through his quiet unassuming ways, I began to understand a few of these words, and I would practice them on every visit I had with him.  Though I came to him as a caregiver, I received so much more than I ever gave.

I want to express how thankful i am and honored that i had a chance to be in your life and learn some of your lessons and poems.

Papaji has always been like a father to me never like a father in law. I love him dearly and respect him very much. I know that he will be with us in every step in our way; watching and guiding us like he always has.

I have memories of when papa and bg first came to Ontario when I was five years old, and in the last 24 years of my life I've had this brilliant Grandfather that had so much love for me and all of his grandchildren, daughters, cousins, friends and his loving wife.  Papa was a man of infinite knowledge of our religion, English, literature, and so much more to be proud of like when he used to make sure where and what time we are coming home, cook us our favorite dinner or ask us to define a word we never heard like "veer" at the age of eight years old, I did get him the answer. 

You are in my thoughts every and are deeply missed your loving Grandson

Though we've just exchanged greetings and short conversation, you can tell a lot about an individual through their family. I've heard stories of your patience, your passion for creativity and the respect you've gained from your family, friends and the community. You will surely be missed.

I am so glad that couple of months ago, I had the opportunity to sit with  you for few hours and had a long talk about almost everything without realizing that all of a sudden, time runs out…. and I am so sorry I couldn't see you once again for the last time ! 
I have known you (My Maserji) right from my childhood and remember many long walks we had together in the village talking about life in general and our common interests in literature – I had the opportunity to learn many values from you and indeed, you were a great Teacher, Mentor and learned so much from you specially about our religion. You will be missed but I believe:
Those we love don't go away – they walk beside us everyday – unseen, unheard, but always near – still loved, still missed and very dear!!!

Please accept my heart felt condolences for your dear father's demise. I went through the same situation 15 yrs. back, and it still hurts when I think of it. So, I can really feel, what you are going through. 
I guess the  Consolable fact is that your Father did well in bringing his family here, to a beautiful country, brought you all up with such good values and led his meaningful life with Dignity.
May 'The God Almighty' take him in His embrace and rest his soul in Peace. 
May the whole family stay strong together to sail through this difficult time.

The moment I heard about Nana ji passing away, memories of my childhood immediately came to my mind when I used to visit Nana ji and family at their village during my school holidays. Nana ji was an epitome of intelligence, faith and kind-heartedness. He influenced countless lives in a positive way during his tenure as a Professor in various institutions and thereafter. May Vaheguru have him rest in peace and give the family the strength to bear the unbearable.

Those who educate children well are more to be honored than they who produce them; for these only gave them life, those the art of living well - Aristotle.

Dear Ravi:

I've just read the beautiful messages left by people who's lives have been touched so deeply by having known your father.  The two messages left by Mona and Shawn say so much about the man your dad was and the legacy he's left...they brought a tear to my eye.  How beautiful this whole world would be if every one of us could have a similar impact on our loved ones and acquaintances...As you said Ravi, your beautiful father will never be gone, you'll find him present everywhere.

I still remember the day I visited papa ji in June 2010, we all spent time together in Ravi's  back yard.Those memories will stay with me forever.Papa JI also gave me his book .papa Ji  you will be missed and will remember you. I will miss talking to you over the phone.whenever I called and Ravi was not home, I had chance to talk to you.Papa J  rest in peace.

Even though I did not know Mr. Grewal well, I have a lovely memory of him. Once when I visited Ravi, she was occupied looking after something. He kept me entertained and engaged in a game of pool! He was also a great conversationalist. I'm happy to have had an opportunity to meet him and see how his character has influenced his family.

I know you are now in the best place of the entire Universe, with my beloved Baba Ji and His Lotus Churn. Every time I go to visit Ravi and Mata Ji, I wish I could still run downstairs to find you there, so I can give you the biggest hug and see your beautiful smiles. I also miss our intellectual conversations. I can feel your presence whenever I go downstairs and I can still hear your voice asking me to: refresh your water; pass your glasses; make some tea; put your socks on or take them off; pass your towel or read some article. Bhaia Ji, thank you for sharing 5 months of your life with me and giving me an opportunity to know a great man that lived. “Welcome you back to a new life.”

Papaji ,I will never forget good time when we went to India together  and you took us to Gurdwara Mehdiana Sahib and Gurdwara Samadhan and you talked about your grandfather inspiring spiritual life .I have so many good memories with you. You will be always in my heart as a loving grandfather and a great human being.

  At the end journey, it is but customary & natural to look back. Some people leave behind fragrant blossoms over the path traversed while others only clouds of dust. Prof. Pritam Singh Grewal has left gently perceptible footprints on the sands of time. A self-made man, an epitome of equanimity, he evoked confidence & exuded affection in everyone. The departure of the Dear One brings us a notch closure to our own destination!
  I feel personally deprived but family is hurt the most. May God grant succour to the bereaved family & peace to the departed soul.

He was personality to remember forever....He was a perfect blend of knowledge, humanity, love and care...He will always be missed and his writings will serve as guiding light to all his near and dear ones...We will always remember you....

I still don't fully comprehend that you have left us, but as you always taught me, I shall rise above adversity and face life's challenges. It seems harder now that you're not here to physically support me, but I know you will always be watching. It doesn't seem possible to put into words how much you mean to me. You were my first father figure and male role model. You taught me how to count, my alphabet, and how to read, all of which was in 2 languages. You taught me about our religion, culture and about faith. You also taught me to love the written word and gave me an appreciation for Shakespeare. How can you ever repay someone for so much? Your memories will live on forever with me. And it will bring me joy to tell others stories of my grandfather. When I reflect on my memories of you, it brings me so much peace knowing that you were content with your life. I will miss you and do not think that this void that you have left can be filled but like I said to you on your birthday, “No matter how far apart we are, I am always thinking of you.” Bronx is with you, to keep you company until we can meet again.

Dear Papa,

When I come home for lunch there is no one to say – Mera internet nahi chalda, aaj mere TV da control nahi chalda, mirch de ke jah, achhar de ke jah, daal garm kar, adhi roti , adha cup chaah, a little salt and you always squeezed in  political highlights and religious issues of the day in that little time. In the evening, there is now no one to ask me, “Kushwant lai aaa”. In your little requests, there was a hidden message. You take me as your son. One can only ask these things from a son and Papa thank you for allowing me to be one. I know you were always worried more about Biji, but please be assured I'll take care of all her needs till my last breath.

Words cannot come close to expressing the emptiness felt without you here.  Ironically, the emptiness is negated with the words you shared with us; memories resinating through and through, reminding us that although you may not physically be with us; you are always with us in spirit.

You have always been an inspiration to all of us, a role model for us to emulate, someone very learned to seek advice from and to learn from. I will miss you very much and I wish I had the opportunity to spend more time with you, to learn more from you and to get to know you better.

I still start my mornings with biji listening to the paath from bangla sahib but you are not there to listen with us. Still, I have my daily questions for you and I'm met with no answers to my questions. Still, I hear the sound of your cane and turn around and find quietness. Still, I look into nature and see squirells. outside but no comments from you. Even though, I know what you would have said, I want to hear it in your voice. Papa thank you for bringing me into this beautiful world and thank you for allowing me the honour of living with you for 41 years of my life. And no matter how hard I try to shuffle around things in our home to reduce the pain of losing you, you are still present everywhere I look.

I had the opportunity to meet Papa ji for the first time after hearing great things about this man. Upon meeting him it was a blessed union in which I cherish. He greeted me with a warm welcome into the Family. The great moments Papa ji shared with many people were worldly issues, faith, history, politics, education and values which will be carried throughout their lives. I am honoured to have had the opportunity to meet Papa ji and share such blessed moments with him. His final words to me as he gave me and my Fiancee an engagement gift was, "This is a token of my love".

My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me.  I am very fortunate to be called his daughter.
