Nina Vakaliuk was a powerful force. She survived unimaginable things throughout her life, lived through and saw things none of us could even fathom. But Nina never complained, she never pitied herself even while she carried all of her memories and knowledge in her dainty and elegant body, she carried them with grace and feminine strength. Nina taught all of us how to survive like she did. She was not just a Grandmother and a Mom to Stefania and Julia (Kenny), but to all she met. Dear sister of Sergei Vakaliuk (Maria). She helped countless people through the hardest times in their lives, healed them when they were about to give up. She gave people hope and comfort when they were in the dark. She sacrificed everything to help others and worked tirelessly to make sure anybody who asked for her help would get it. We should all be like Nina, we must carry on her legacy to do good and heal each other in a world so full of hurt. Nina was an amazing friend, Mother, Grandmother and family member to us all and her memory will forever live on in our hearts and minds.
Nina's family will receive relatives and friends at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900), on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Cremation will follow. Online condolences at www.westmountfuneralchapel.com
