Beloved husband of Donna (née Loudon) Rastel for 62 years. Dear father of Lee Ann Rastel Smith (Steve). Also remembered by his 2 grandchildren. Dear brother of Hank Rastel (Roma). Predeceased by his sisters Ada (Hertel) and Trudy (Giller) and his brother Robert. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, and longtime friends.
Fred taught mathematics for 4 years at Annandale High School in Tillsonburg. He moved back to his roots in Kitchener in 1965, after being offered a Head of Mathematics position at Waterloo-Oxford Secondary School in Baden, a role he held for 30 years. He enjoyed time spent with family, old friends, fishing, golfing, and traveling.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Fred's life will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., at 32 Duke St., Elmira. Please R.S.V.P. to 226-791-7836.
