Ethel wasn't answering her phone today Feb 4 so I went to deliver some items directly to her apartment. One of her neighbors confirmed the sad news.

I haven't seen Ethel since the '90s, I spoke to her a few times in the past couple years by phone. She sounded exactly the same and was the sweetest person.

I called last on the morning of December 23rd. I had arranged with her that after I'm done moving my mom and cleaning out her house, I would help her find a ground floor apartment - she was still living in a three-storey walk-up and was getting to find lugging the groceries up a bit much.

Many good memories of how kind she was to us, and a good friend over the years to my mother, Maren K Jensen.

Ethel was like a second mom to me will miss her every day and loved her with all my heart. I miss the phone calls, lunchs and the many visits. You will never be forgotten,, say hi to my mom and dad, luv you.

Ethel was a close friend of my grandmother Zofia for many years. They enjoyed visits together and went to Niagara Falls years ago. Ethel can now continue the friendship in heaven with my grandmother. RIP sweet Ethel!! <3

My heart is broken. I knew Ethel my entire life. She and my Mom, Grace Crawford where friends since long before I came along. She has continued to keep in touch even after Mom passed four years ago.  It helped me deal with the loss  of mom being able to speak to Ethel and hear her cheerful voice. I've been  worried since not being able to reach her.  Seeing this today has really hit me hard.  I will miss her badly. My heart goes out to the whole family. I live in  Florida and had no idea.  Can someone please call me to tell me what happened. Please 727+791-7923  Debbie Crawford

To Ethel's family, I would like to express my sincere condolences over the loss of an amazing woman.  I met Ethel through my mother with whom Ethel had been friends for years.  My mother having been born in Poland and Ethel's interest in Poland were what brought them together.   Over the years, I learned of Ethel's generosity of spirit and time.  She loved her friends dearly and always kept in touch via a phone call, an outing, a visit to the home of her friends or the offer to go to the cemetery to water the flowers at my father's gravesite.   The energy she exuded for a woman her age always impressed me. Her knowledge of the world came from her numerous travels that she shared with me during my last  visit with her at her apartment in November.  Ethel was a  beautiful soul both inside and outside and I am honoured to have had her friendship.  Her beautiful smile and positivity will be sorely missed.  May she rest in peace knowing she lived this life well.

When I think and remember Ethel,  I often think of her as a honorary member of the Allan Wagner Family.    She was a lifelong friend of Mabel Koch,  Verna Nelson, and Myrtle Capling   ( all Wagner  sisters) 
The friendships amongst these ladies continued for decades.
In later years, with Ethel driving, they would all gather in Point Clark at Mabel’s cottage, and do what good friends do …. cook … eat and chat about life,       Your girl friends,  Ethel are all waiting for you with open arms.

Ethel was a kind, generous caring lady who I met through playing cards. God take care of Ethel as she is one special lady.

I am so grateful to have had Ethel in my life.  She was an amazing friend and will be remembered for her kindness, caring, generosity and the love she had for her family and friends.  I will miss her, but have many wonderful memories of our time together.  Rest In Peace my friend.

Thinking of the family and friends during this difficult time. Ethel will be missed. Great Memories can't be taken away. I have known Ethel for a Long time. (She was my Neighbor and friend) She enjoyed travelling, playing cards, music and spending time with family and friends. Her family and friends are amazing kind people.
