November 24, 1914 - February 11, 1012
Well, everyone, our little energizer bunny passed away early Saturday morning. She had a massive heart attack and went peacefully in her sleep at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was in no pain and even asked the nurse for something to eat and of course, “A Cup of Coffee”. We are sad to see her go, but very relieved that she did not suffer and it was very quick and peaceful. Our family was very fortunate that she was such an active and independent person and was even bowling and renewed her driver’s license two days before. Hopefully she is now reunited with Dad and they are off somewhere dancing on the clouds.
She is survived by her son, Paul (Jean) Wagner, daughter Nancy (Peter) Janzen, grandchildren Stacy (Ryan) Kimmel, Richard (Julie) Wagner, Christopher (Wendy) Janzen, Steven (Stacie) Wagner. She also leaves behind 8 great-grandchildren, Jacqueline, Alison, Arwen, Andrew, Dominic and Valarie, Jenna and Connor. She has four surviving sisters-in-law, Gracia Schoefer, Shirley Roussel, Elizabeth Hintz and Margaret Borthwick and two brothers-in-law, Ralph Roussel and Harold Hintz.
She will be sadly missed by many of her friends from her social network, as she was very active at senior centres, bowling and line dancing. Among her many friends she leaves behind she will be especially missed by Grant and Rosemary Schneider and their family.
She was predeceased by her husband George in 1997 and is the last surviving member of her family.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A service celebrating her life will be held at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. West on Thursday February 16th at 3 o’clock with Rev. Mark Lewis officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday afternoon from 1pm until service time. A reception for family and friends will follow the service at the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre. A private burial will take place at Bridgeport Cemetery at a later date.
For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Food Bank of Waterloo Region, Meals on Wheels or to St. Mary’s Hospital and can be arranged by calling the funeral home.
