Rita Mary Cox, 91, of Lake Alfred, FL passed away in the evening on July 6, 2013. She was married to the one and only George J. Cox, Sr. for 60 years. She was a homemaker (she called herself a domestic engineer) and worked in a silk factory as a pro and personal seamstress. She taught her boys how to cook, clean, and sew. She taught Sunday school and helped her boys teach. Though she did not finish high school, she was sharp and self-taught. She was a Navy wife and a mother for over 23 years. Rita was also involved in quilting, knitting, croscheying, sewing, and whatever needed to be done at Trinity Lutern Church in Kissimmee, FL. Rita was at peace with the Lord and was ready to be with Him.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Cox Sr., who passed on July 5, 2003.
She is survived by her Sons Ronald J. Cox of St. Cloud FL, George J. Cox, Jr. and wife Krystyna of Lake Alfred, FL, and John F. Cox and wife Noriko of Yamitan, Okinawa, Japan; Granddaughters Melinda Parker (Keith) of Klamath Falls, OR, Michelle Leary (James) of New Jersey, Ana Dalton (Donald) of TX, and Gorita Cox of Texas; Grandson George M. Cox (Laurie) of Winter Haven, FL; Great-Granddaughters Rebecca Fanning (Cody) of Klamath Falls, OR, Rachel Williams (Bryan), Alyssa, Nikole, and Michelana; Great-Grandsons Michael Parker of Klamath Falls, OR, Christopher, Evan, JP, Sean, and Brady; Great-Great-Grandaughter Brooke; Great-Great-Grandsons Gabriel George Fanning, Kaden Ray Parker, and John.
