It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Priscilla Joyce Carter Lucas, 76 a cherished mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. Priscilla departed this world on January 23rd, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Gerald “Sonny” Wayne Lucas Sr, her father Erby Franklin Carter Sr, her mother Sarah Pauline Hutson Carter, her sister Phyllis Jean McFarland and her brother Erby Franklin Carter Jr. She is survived by her children Gerald “Bo” Lucas Jr (Lauralee), Bonnie Lucas-Bennett, James Lucas, Robert Lucas and Pamela Mathis (Shawn). She is survived by her aunt Rubie Greene. Also, she is survived by her siblings, Pat Copenhaver, Ed Carter, Buster Carter, Kathy Pugh, Royce Carter, Deborah Carter-Rowell, June Carter-Clemons, Robert Carter, Jerry Carter, and Chris Carter. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Priscilla was a remarkable woman known for her zest for life and her vibrant spirit. She approached each day with an infectious enthusiasm that brightened the lives of all who knew her. Her love for the color purple was evident in everything she did, from her wardrobe to her home decor, reflecting her vibrant personality and unique sense of style.
An avid fan of Elvis Presley and all things Nascar and the color purple, Priscilla could often be found singing along to his timeless hits and inviting everyone to watch a Nascar race.
Above all, Nanny cherished her role as a grandmother. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in spending time with them, creating cherished memories that will be treasured forever. Whether doing puzzles, watching old shows or movies, or simply sharing stories, Nanny showered her grandchildren with unconditional love and affection and she was fiercely protective.
Priscilla will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she may be gone from our sight, her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched and the memories she created.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alzheimer’s Research, in honor of our mom, Priscilla Lucas. We ask all who attend to wear something in the color purple in honor of our Mom and Nanny.

A funeral service for Priscilla will be held Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Grissom Funeral Home and Crematory, 803 Emmett Street, Kissimmee, FL 34741. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery, 1615 Old Boggy Creek Road, Kissimmee, FL 34744.
A gathering of friends and family will immediately follow the burial services at the VFW 915 New York Avenue in St. Cloud Florida.
