I am finding it extremely difficult to link Peter Vega to the word Obituary. It's funny because I have no problem whatsoever linking Peter to some other words: beloved husband, excellent father, doting grandfather, caring family man, good neighbor,  witty jokester, happy missionary, faithful Christian, advocate for justice, honorable veteran, natural leader, avid fan of " comida criolla," proud Boricua and from my most personal and unforgettable perspective, mi querido hermano en Cristo Jesus. Te veo en el Cielo amado Pedrito. QEPD.

Pete was the first person to interview me when I applied to the security team at Cru.  Pete sat there arms  folded with a serious face looking me over. I said to myself "I'm in trouble.  Pete became a mentor to me and showed me the importance of putting Christ at the center of your life. He counseled me on some personal issues I was going through. He was a true brother in Christ.  I am so sorry that life got so busy that we lost contact. But, my memories of Pete and the fun and fellowship we had will never be forgotten. My deepest condolences to Ada and the entire Vega family.  God Bless and may the Holy Spirit comfort you all.

We are going to miss you, Pete.  We had the best time when we went to Cuba with you and Ada in October 2013 on the Mission trip.  This was one of the best experiences of our lives.  We were so blessed to have been able to share that wonderful experience with you and Ada.  You were such a wonderful human being and now you are one of God's angels.  We just can't believe you had to go to the Lord so soon.  Until we meet again, our friend.

I have been on over 20 mission trips over the years going to all parts of the world. I have been on the Cuba mission team for Cornerstone Church 4 times to help build Cuban churches for spreading the love Christ has blessed in my life. It has always been special working with Pete Vega due to our joking around with each other while working on the construction. I was lucky in life being able to fix just about anything and Pete would always come over and ask can you fix this or that and would get it done. God gave each one of us a gifts, mine was electrical  and construction. Pete was well suited for Cuba and missions for getting team together and helping  the people  spreading the word of God. He will be remembered for his deeds and smile down on us as we keep the mission for the next generation.
I will miss you coming to the church door with Ada (If I decided to let you in or not.. (lol) 

I first met Peter on our first Cuba Mission meeting in 2016. I actually thought I was going on the water filtration mission with Fred,  and ended up on Peter's Mission. Since I couldnt change the dates for the correct mission, I stayed. During our mission  in Cuba, Peter's voice became sore, and he told me,  I would have to interpret for David, because he would not be able to. Being my first mission I panicked. I only had twenty minutes to prepared with David. All he said was, "you can do this sister!" And I did. What a blessing. Then my husband Richard and I,  continued spending time with Peter and Ada in the small groups. They prayed for our family, we prayed for theirs. We shared coffee and snacks, laughed together, and shed a few tears together during our small groups. We have been truly  blessed by them. We are thankful, our father gave us the opportunity to know him and his family. I have a better understanding of christianity because of Peter.  Peter was a funny, caring person and prayed for everyone's needs, whether he knew them or not. He will be missed. I pray for Ada and her family to have comfort and peace during this time.
