John James Muldowney, a loving husband and father, 83 of Orlando, FL passed away December 27, 2011. Born August 31, 1928 in Minersville, PA the son of the late John J. and Mary Muldowney. He graduated from Pottsville High School, Pottsville, PA and attended ICS Correspondence School for many years. John served in the United States Army overseas during World War II. He was employed at Aetna Steel in Pottsville; Westinghouse for 23 years, in the Engineering and Design department and Martin Marietta in Florida as a Senior Design Engineer for 15 years. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Kissimmee and longtime member of the Elks and Moose lodge of Kissimmee. He faithfully contributed to the Valencia Community College Scholarship Fund in Florida, the American Lung Association and the American Cancer Society. His special achievements included, Coaching his son’s football community league, contributed to the design of the Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) project for Westinghouse and being the owner and operator of a family restaurant in Safety Harbor, FL for 5 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet; sister, Nancy Leaswitch. He is survived by his children, John Muldowney of Tampa, FL, Sharon Petrosky of Severna Park, MD, Terry Muldowney of Stafford, TX, Kevin Muldowney of Orlando, Kathleen Kasaitis of Crofton, MD and Eileen Pilkowski of Queenstown, MD; Sisters, Jane DiCasimirro of Mahanoy City, PA and MaryLouise Brennan of New Tripoli, PA; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
