Daniel D. Turner, 65, of Saint Cloud, Florida passed away on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17, 2012. Born in Springfield, Illinois on May 6, 1947, he was the son of the late James Isaac Turner and the late Marilyn Miller Kawalek. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Christine Williams and Ann Perry.
Dan was a retired truck driver/owner operator, and he sold cars and time shares in several states. An avid Harley Davidson motorcycle rider, he was also a former sail boater and golfer. Dan was a veteran of the United States Army having served during Vietnam. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Kissimmee. Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Dan is survived by his wife of 30 years, Linda K. Turner; his daughter, Shelby Turner of Leesburg, GA; his grandchildren, Savanna Brumley, Dustin Brumley, Jacob Hall, and Caleb Manders; his brothers-in-law, Joseph Perry of Albany, GA and Daniel Williams of State College, PA; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Luann Houser of Dearborn Heights, MI, Richard and Patricia Sujdak of Yardley, PA, and Donald and Peggy Houser of Kane, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from 3 – 5 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Comforter, 480 W. Central Pkwy., Altamonte Springs, FL 32714 or to Trinity Lutheran Church, 3016 W. Vine St. (US 192), Kissimmee, FL 34741.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Schmalzle officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany, GA on Saturday, June 23, 2012.
