Herb was predeceased by his parents Sam and Margaret King; 3 brothers at infancy; brothers: Dave (Eve), Reuben (Iola), Bob (Lil) and Tom; sisters Marie (Stu) Constable and Mary (Gordon) Campbell; mother and father-in-law Ruth and Charlie Mott.
Herb is survived by his beloved wife Edith; son Kevin (Tammy); grandchildren: Shoni (Aussin Reinks), Zane and Shayda; daughter Dineen (Tony Apt); step-grandchildren Grace and Trent; brothers Ed (Louise) and Norman (Iris); sisters-in-law Jean and Janet Saxon as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
Herb went into Regina General for scheduled bypass surgery on January 16th. Prior to surgery Herb had been out fishing with buddies, helping friends with cows, hunting coyotes and tanning hides with Zane (acting much younger than his 75 years).
During surgery Herb suffered a severe allergic reaction to an antibiotic and went into life threatening anaphylactic shock. The medical teams at the Regina General both in the OR and in the SICU did everything they could to try to save him, however he would not wake up and left us on January 18th. The team in the SICU was incredibly kind to us and for that we are grateful.
As we begin to pick up the pieces of our broken hearts and to remember the life of Herb, we realize that there are just too many memories and experiences to be shared here.
We enjoyed sharing these memories with you all in King’s Corner Arena, Corning, SK on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Livestreaming of the celebration was available with the link that is posted below.
If friends so desire, contributions may be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 1738 Quebec Avenue, Unit 26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9.
