George Rupert

George was born June 4, 1940 near Kennedy, Saskatchewan to Martin and Stefonia (Stella) Rupert. After high school, George remained in the Kennedy area and established his grain farming operation. On October 6, 1973 George married Gloria Fillion.

George is survived by Gloria and their children: Glenda (Tim) Shotter, Janice (John Lees) Rupert, Glenn (Christine Hambleton) Rupert, Maureen (Justin Arnott) Rupert, Brenda (James Coates) Rupert, Ryan (Jasmine) Rupert, his 15 grandchildren and his sister Marion (Allen) Schwalm.

George was predeceased by his infant son RJ, parents Martin and Stefonia (Stella) Rupert and brother Walter Rupert.

Farming was George’s passion from a very early age. He took great pride in his grain farm, and the thousands of trees he hand-planted and cared for to establish the farmyard southeast of Kennedy. He worked hard on the farm to provide for his family and was proud to see his virtues of hard work and determination passed onto his children.

Grandpa 'Grumpy' George will forever be cherished and missed by his children and grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the compassionate healthcare and homecare workers who provided wonderful care to George.

A private graveside service was held in the St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Kennedy, Saskatchewan.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Ann’s RC Cemetery Fund would be appreciated.
