Waymon was a great man. He will be greatly missed. I met him when I was around 8, and ever since has inspired me to do my best at living a decent and upstanding life. May his family heal and live joyfully.

My Uncle Waymon look over me tomorrow. I’m going to court miss you for many reasons but this fraud mess I wish you were here to help me. I’m having to go to prove Identity fraud please  Look over me in morning give me strength like you would say “ never give up’. I wish you were here to talk too to help me, wish I would of been there more for you love you always  miss miss miss you as a  Uncle, detective and your P.I help….love you Uncle Waymon truly missed hugs 

My sincere condolences to Kari whom we met only once in Atlanta when her parents, Max and Jerry lived there.  My late wife, Alaine(1937-2018), was Kari's cousin through Max.  Condolences also to Kari's mom, Jerry.  Our sons, Jim, Jr. and Mark, also wish to add their condolences to the Sckerl and Allen families. May you find comfort in Waymon's life well lived and his commitment and service to his community.

I first met Waymon in 1972-73, we worked at ohmstede machine works, about a year later he left to work at a chemical plant in Pasadena, I followed a couple months later, he left sometime in 74 to pursue his passion as a police officer and joined the HPD, he loved his choice, rode with him a couple of times and he was made for that profession. we never stayed in touch too much, heard about his family losses and touched base with him around 94. he was such a great person. I ran into a HPD officer in Crosby who told me he worked the Atascocita 59 N. area and that was Waymons beginning  division area. he mentioned he knew the name and remembered an email that mentioned him passing recently. I searched until I found it. I am so sorry for the loss of a great guy, prayers to his family and friends.


I came back to Homicide from Sex Crimes and I was asked to ride with Waymon. It was a good decision. Waymon was very enthusiastic, dedicated and had exceptional skills all of which rubbed off on me. We worked many murders and cleared almost all of them. I tell people Waymon had two speeds when working a case; full throttle and stopped (at his desk to write his report). I actually felt sorry for crooks sitting across the table from him in the interrogation room. Waymon also had a compassionate heart and truly felt for the family of our victims. I shall never forget him and I consider it a privileged to have worked so many years with him,
