Robert Denton Adams

Robert (Bob) Denton Adams was born in Monroe, Louisiana on November 29, 1947 to William (Bill) and Marguerite Adams. He passed away on November 13, 2023 He was preceded in death by his loving parents and grandparents. He is survived by his sister, Christie Adams Gallagher of Ely, Minnesota, daughter Rebecca and her husband, Ian Cosgrove of Kingwood, Tx, daughter Kathryn Barwick Adams of Shannon, Ireland , grandchildren Nicholas Campbell and Lily Cosgrove and former wife, Mary Irene Murray.

Bob grew up in Corpus Christi, Tx where he developed his love for the ocean. He attended the University of Texas in 1967 where he played soccer and joined the Naval ROTC. Bob started his banking career at Citibank in New York, relocating to Houston to continue his banking career. He attended The School of Banking of the South at LSU in 1979. He obtained his law degree from Texas Southern University in 1989. Bob started his legal career at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office before relocating to Brackettville to join the Attorney General’s Office. He finished his legal career as Kinney County Attorney before retiring to Corpus Christi, Tx.

Bob was an avid scuba diver, teaching many family and friends as a PADI instructor. He enjoyed fishing and hunting which he learned at an early age from his grandfather, Robert Barwick. Playing golf was another passion. He was an ardent student of military history and was John Wayne’s greatest fan.

His daughters will host a Celebration of Life on December 29, 2023 at Kingwood Funeral Home.

A celebration of life and reception for Robert will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339.
