Mark Jeffery Trammell, aka Stud Muffin and Flash, grilled octopus connoisseur, lover of kitschy knick knacks, fisherman, builder of dragons, mechanic extraordinaire, Trekkie, Disney fan, AC/DC fanatic, Tram-Ale brewer, wannabe wine vintner, guitarist, lover of all musical instruments, horder of tools and building materials, gardening novice, Encyclopedia Britannica, home improvement guru, story teller, lover, companion, adored father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, best friend, boss, co-worker and bad joke comedian, died on Friday, December 21st, 2018.
Mark worked many jobs in his life from gas station mechanic, Zales watch repairman, aggregate scale and rail man and Office Manager/HR. But he spent his last 20 years as the Controller for Certex USA. He truly loved his company and the people with which he worked both co-workers and employees. He also admired and respected the owners all of which he was proud to call friend.
Mark loved sports especially, football and baseball. He was a huge fan of the Texans and the Astros. His love of sports was heavily influenced by his father, Coach M.J. Trammell. Many Sundays were spent with a plate full of home smoked brisket (made by his father), potato salad and pinto beans sitting in front of the television watching football. Those were good times.
The women in his life were numerous. His mother, Elaine and two sisters, Diana and Cindy. He never quite enjoyed shopping as much as his mother, but he would tag along so long as window shopping wasn’t involved. He loved Diana’s cooking, especially the baking and Cindy was his partner in crime, ditching mass on Sunday for ice cream in Boerne. He very much loved his family.
In October of 1977, he met his future wife in the cafeteria of John Marshall High School in San Antonio when he came to her table to ask her friend to the homecoming dance. She was a sophomore and he was a senior. They spent many months as friends until they officially began dating in April of 1978. After four years of dating, he married his main squeeze Sheri Jordan, 36 years ago, with whom they had three boys, Matthew, Michael and Joey. He taught his sons how to fish, change a tire, drive a stick shift, swing a bat, appreciate classic rock, create with your hands and tell a bad joke. His actions taught them honesty, patience, integrity and that your actions always have consequences.
Loved ones that cleared the path for Mark are his father M.J. Trammell, mother Elaine Trammell, his guardian son Draven Wirick-Trammell, his brother-in-law Dennis Bush and his life-long best friend Kirk Dockery. Loved ones that will miss Mark until they meet again are his wife, Sheri Trammell, his sons Matthew, Michael and Joseph Trammell, his sister Diana Bush and sister Cynthia Barrett and husband David Barrett, his in-laws, Lavitta Koch, Dan and Jean Jordan, Larry and Gilda Jordan, Troy and Wronda Jordan and Jimmy and Michelle Polich along with nieces and nephews, Philip and Katie Bush, Alayna and Brian Fox, Abigail Barrett, Morgan Jordan, Mason Jordan, Rachel and Vic Calhoun, Abigail Jordan, Bennet and Daniel Jordan, Shelby Polich, Caleb Polich, Joshua Polich, Jonathan Polich, Sarai Polich, Gabriel Polich and Tzafrir Polich.
A celebration of life will be held, Saturday, December 29th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Kingwood Funeral Home, Kingwood, Texas.
