Josephine Boice

She was born on April 25, 1930, in Sandyville, West Virginia, a daughter of Okey and Maude (Jackson) Salser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lowell Salser and her sister Imogene Pridemore.

Josephine is survived by her daughters, Karen Peterson of Cornelius, North Carolina, and Charlotte (Rick) Ott of Destin, Florida; five grandchildren, John Romeo III (Lisa) of Coolidge, Arizona, Jeremy Romeo of Kingwood, Texas, Courtney Romeo also of Kingwood, Taylor (Sean) Foster of Dallas, Texas, and Katy Ott also of Dallas; and four great-grandsons, Thaddeus Romeo of Coolidge, Arizona, Quenton Romeo, in the United States Navy in Dahlgren, Virginia, Ashton Romeo of Kingwood, and Braiden Romeo also of Kingwood.

Josephine graduated from Ravenswood High School in Ravenswood, West Virginia where she was a member of the band and active in Thespians. For most of her life, she resided in Vienna and Parkersburg, West Virginia where she was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. She retired from the Bureau of the Public Debt and later worked in customer service with Woodcraft Supply. She had been an avid and competitive bowler, winning numerous trophies.

Josephine loved West Virginia University sports, especially football. She enjoyed art and tabletop jigsaw puzzles which she gave to family and friends. For years, she enjoyed the companionship of her little dogs, Somers and Sofi. And she loved her family very much. She will be sadly missed by all of them.

Kingwood Funeral Home in Kingwood, Texas is handling the arrangements. A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
