Funeral services for James (Jim) Monroe Dudley, 80, of Beaumont, Texas, formerly of Kingwood, will be held at 6:00pm, Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Hwy 59 N., Kingwood, Texas. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 4:00-6:00pm. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Nixon Cemetery, 1396 CR 174, Nixon, Texas.
Mr. Dudley was born on February 11, 1942 in Nixon, Texas to parents Jesse and Corine (Cook) Dudley and passed away on May 23, 2022 in Beaumont, Texas.
Mr. Dudley proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked in communications during his tour in Vietnam. Before his time in Vietnam, he was stationed at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia. He was part of Tactical Air Command (TAC) and was assigned to the Fifth Mobile Communications Group (5th Mob).
Mr. Dudley worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone (AT&T) after his time in the service. He spent 28 dedicated years with the Phone Company working various positions retiring as a supervisor.
Mr. Dudley married Sydney Hall on March 19, 1972 at a wedding chapel in Galveston, Texas. They resided for 45 years in Kingwood, Texas, in the same home. He dedicated 50 years to the love of his life until his passing.
Mr. Dudley was an avid fisherman, who loved to be on the water with his friends and family. He was known for never being able to sit still; he was always ready to help someone move or take them to appointments. He was a true servant. He loved his grandchildren and attended many of their sports and extracurricular activities. He was an active member of Kingwood Church of Christ, helped manage the apartment ministry, and supported the Loving Kindness program. Most of all, he was known for being a loyal husband to Sydney Dudley, a loving father to Eric Dudley and Debbie Fry, and a devoted friend to many. He was a man of character, honesty, and loyalty.
Mr. Dudley is survived by his wife, Sydney Dudley of Beaumont, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Eric Dudley and Sarah Dudley of Beaumont, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Fry and Cliff Fry of Cypress, Texas.
He is survived by his grandchildren, James Clark and wife Kristen of Cypress, Texas, Ashley Cook and husband Kyle of Pearland, Texas, Ethan Dudley, Carson Dudley and Austin Dudley of Tomball, Texas, and Madelyn and Lindsey Ratcliff of Beaumont, Texas. He is also survived by a great-granddaughter, Rinoa Clark, of Cypress, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Jesse and Corine Dudley, of Nixon, Texas and his sister Virginia Ann Joost of Victoria, Texas.
Pallbearers will be: Eric Dudley, Cliff Fry, Ethan Dudley, Austin Dudley, Jimmie Hall, Alan Hall, and Richard Faulkner.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made, in his honor, to Harbor Hospice of Beaumont, Texas.
