Memorial services for Harold “Rocky” E. Thompson, 78, of Kingwood, Texas, formerly of Spokane, Washington, will be held at 10:00am, Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Northeast Houston Baptist Church, 18000 W Lake Houston Pkwy, Humble, Texas with Pastor Jamey Moore officiating.
Harold “Rocky” Earl Thompson was born on August 24, 1943 in Devils Lake, North Dakota to parents, Earl and Pearl (Baker) Thompson. He passed away on April 8, 2022 at his home in Kingwood.
Rocky and Ada graduated from Rogers High School in Spokane in 1962 and he proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard for six years beginning in May of 1962 and ending in 1968. Rocky was honorably discharged after serving as an expert marksman at the rank of Staff Sergeant. Rocky worked as a Predictive Maintenance Specialist for Kaiser Aluminum-Trentwood Works in Spokane for 35 years, the State of Washington in Moses Lake, for 2 years, and the Peabody Energy Company in Gillette, WY for 7 years, and Humble ISD as special needs bus driver for 7 years. He was a member of Northeast Houston Baptist Church in Atascocita and Sons of Norway. He married the love of his life, Ada M. Andrews, and they celebrated 58 loving years together.
He loved being with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. He also enjoyed serving and teaching at his church, fixing and restoring cars, woodworking, swimming, being on the water, backpacking, hiking, camping, fishing, and playing games.
He is survived by his wife, Ada M. Thompson; daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Mike Nielsen; son and daughter-in-law, Corey and Regan Thompson; 8 grandchildren; 5 great- grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Gary Coon and Marlys and Carl Nemitz; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Harriet Lee.
