He was born in Leakesville, Mississippi, on July 16, 1952. Skip graduated from Leakesville High School and received a Bachelors of Science from Mississippi State University.
He was married to Mary Kathryn Robertson for 47 years.
Skip had a career in the oil and gas industry for numerous companies.
He had a passion for hunting.
He is survived by spouse, Mary Kathryn Turner; children, Lauran Kathryn Taylor (Rodney), C. Brice Turner (Christopher Cook), Daniel Patrick Turner (Melissa); grandchildren, Kaytee Sanders, Bryan Robinson, Jayden Turner, Alexei Turner; great-grandchildren, Connor Bonnoitt, Joshua Cline, Cordelia Sanders; brother, John Carroll Turner (Darlene).
