Calin was born in Oradea, Romania to Lucia and Petru Salajan on May 12th, 1967. He graduated professional school in 1985 and started his career as a professional driver. In his free time, Calin was a musician and he enjoyed singing at events with his friends. In 1988, Calin started his Military Service where he quickly became a respected professional driver to the unit commander. When his service was up, he continued his career as a driver and became a well-established truck driver known and loved by many.
In 1987 he met the love of his life, his beloved wife Mariana Salajan. They wed and had a dear son, Raul Calin Salajan, on April 16th, 1991. Calin was a loving family man that cared and provided for his family. He was a patient teacher and supporter for his son and a loving partner for his wife. He was a social person and loved by many friends and anyone that met him.
In 2008 Calin’s journey brought him and his family to Houston, Texas where he quickly became a respected employee of the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. He started as an Apprentice and in no time, he passed all his exams to become a Maintenance Engineer. He was promoted to Supervisor then a Team Leader in the Maintenance Engineering Department, where he was very respected by his colleagues and the Museum Management Team.
Calin had a love for cars, mechanics, nature, and delicious food. He had many passions and enjoyed the simple things in life. He also loved travelling and took every opportunity to be around water or on a cruise boat. He mostly appreciated a good time and laughs with his family and friends in his backyard. Calin spread joy and laughter anywhere he went, and people loved to be around him. He will be dearly missed by everyone.
In his last months, he fought bravely and was surrounded by his dear family and friends. His wife and son spent every second by his side making life as comfortable as possible. He peacefully left May, 20th at 11:25PM, knowing he was loved and cherished.
In his memory, light a candle and say a prayer, and enjoy the little things in life.
