Jim Walters, age 72, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010 in Kingsville. He was born on November 30, 1937 in Rio Hondo, Texas to William Everett Walters and Elizabeth Null Walters.
He was employed with Acetyline Oxygen Company, Kingsville, for 20 years. Afterwards, he was a ranch manager for El Rancho Lobo, Benavides, Texas for 20 years until his retirement. Mr. Walters was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Verna Mae Walters of Kingsville; son, James Dwane (Amanda) Walters of Benavides, Texas; three daughters, Donna Jean (Richard) Rea of Humble, Texas, Judy (John) Ray and Sheila (Mark) Grossman, both of Kingsville; sister, Janeell Parker of Bayview, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, June 20, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with the family receiving friends that evening after 6:00 p.m.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2010 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2010 at Chamberlain Cemetery, Kingsville, with Deacon John Joiner officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Matthew Ray, Robert Sexton, Christopher Rea, Quinten Rea, Westley Walters, James D. Walters, Beau Walters and Luke Grossman.
