Willis Ray Wills, 77, entered into the loving arms of Jesus during the morning hours of Sunday (May 10, 2020). Ray was born on December 5, 1942 in Huntington, WV to the late Raymond Earnest & Earnestine June (Salyers) Wills.
Ray retired from Ashland Oil Company after 30 years of service. After his retirement, he was employed with Food City on Eastman Road for the past 10 years. He was a dedicated member of Sunnyside Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and was a past Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed golfing, baseball, and spending time with his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 56 years, Carol Wills; sons, Tom Wills & fiancée Samantha Queen and Tim Wills & wife Kaisy; sister, Marsha Blevins & husband Paul; sister-in-law, Judy Clevenger; five grandchildren, Anthony, Brittany, Alex D., Alex A., and Allison; one great granddaughter, Hazel; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday (May 15, 2020) from noon to 2 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor David Luster officiating.
Ray will be laid to rest on Friday (May 15, 2020) at 3 p.m. in the Garden of Peace at East Lawn Memorial Park. Members of Sunnyside Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Sunnyside Baptist Church (406 Cooks Valley Road Kingsport, TN 37664).
