He was a veteran of Vietnam, serving from 1967 to 1969, in which he received the Purple Heart and one Oak Leaf Cluster. Terry retired from the Eastman in 2000. He was also a school bus mechanic for ten+ years, was a former volunteer firefighter for SCVFD and a former reserve deputy for SCSO. Terry was proud to serve his community and country. He accepted the Lord as his savior when he was 12 years old. Terry was "one of the good ones".
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Everette Blair and Elizabeth Blair, and one sister, Beckie Jane Blair.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 52 years, Cynthia (Cindy) Barnes Blair; his brother, Stewart Blair and wife, Sally; two daughters, Kristi Blair Pippin and fiancé, Jay Clendenin, and Buffy Lynn Mays and husband, Mark; four granddaughters, whom he loved immensely, Meagan Blair Hicks (Michael), Samantha Shea Lovegrove (Daniel Church), Peyton Blair Carrier, and Demi Nichole Carrier; one grandson, Justin Mays (Lutfiye), whom he admired so much; five great-granddaughters, Mazie and Blair Hicks, Azra, Ella and Leyla Mays; three great-grandsons, Jonah, Nolan, and Silas Church; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 6:00pm with Rev. Chris Brown and Pastor Crystal Smith officiating.
