Nancy E. Johnson

Nancy E. Johnson, age 88 of Kingsport, went home in the arms of her Lord on Friday, February 16, 2018 at her residence. Nancy was born on November 22, 1929 in Russell County, VA.

Nancy was a living testimony to her Lord and Savior. She showed kindness and compassion for others. She believed it was important to put others before herself, and God was the center of her life. Nancy worked as a nurse for many years; which allowed her to show compassion to those in need. Nancy was a faithful member of First Christian Church, Kingsport, where she taught Sunday school and made communion bread. Nancy was loved by everyone, especially her cats.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, W.E. “Bill” Johnson; one sister, Barbara Norvelle; and two brothers-in-law, Robert S. Harris, and Bedford Motley. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Harris and Glenda Motley; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special “Thank You” Caris Hospice and Ms. Aleshia Cassell.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm immediately following the visitation with Pastor Phil Sams officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Dylan Harris, Tre Montgomery, Mark Derrick, and Josh Harwood.
