Maxie N. Howington, age 86, entered into rest March 27, 2014 at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was a native of Virginia and a longtime resident of Kingsport. Maxie “Howie” was formerly employed with Terrace Theaters and Fort Henry Five Theater. She was of the Baptist faith. Maxie was preceded in death by parents, Joe and Amanda Saul; her daughter, Joyce Howington. Survivors include her son, Johnny Howington and his wife, Sherry of Mt. Carmel; two daughters, Hazel Bellamy McClellan and her husband, Danny of Kingsport, Dorothy Cross of Fall Branch; five grandchildren, Tracy Cross, Brandi Connally and husband, Michael, Melissa Ann Kinley and husband Todd, Lindsay Boggs and husband, Jerry, Crystal Smith and husband, Gary; eight great-grandchildren, Mikey Kinley, Alex Kinley, Michele Jones, Amanda Boggs, Tristan Cross, Kayla Connally, Megan Connally, Emily Connally; two great-great-grandchildren, Tristan Jones, Lucas Kinley; three sisters, Mary Hughes of Kingsport, Ruby Haas, Virgie Rhoten; brother, Lonnie Statzer all of VA; many nieces and nephews, and special friend, AD Howington. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow in the chapel with Evangelist Rex McMurray officiating.
