Marlene Allen Reed

Marlene Allen Reed, 61, of Kingsport passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born on August 3, 1953 in Trenton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lewis Allen Sr. and Merlyine Glenese White. Mrs. Reed was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church in Kingsport. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who cherished her family.

In addition to her parents, Robert Lewis Allen, Sr. and Merlyine Glenese White, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert “Bobby” Lewis Allen, Jr. She is survived by her husband of over 19 years, Edward Reed; children, James Eller, Trinity Eller, Elijah Eller and his wife, Amanda, Elijah Reed Eller, and Elicia Absher and her husband, Jammie; step-daughter, Shanta Jackson; sisters Gail Hill and Lora Mae Allen; brother, Aaron Allen; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Annette Morrow and her husband, Jerry.

The family would like to thank Dr. Tommy Haynes and the members of Fall Creek Baptist Church for their loving care and compassion they expressed and showed to Marlene and her family. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, July 5, 2015 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Dr. Tommy Haynes officiating. Burial will be held following the services in Christus Garden of East Lawn Memorial Park.
