“Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.” Judy Jean Hilton, age 66 of Greeneville, entered into Heaven’s glory on Saturday, May 7, 2016. Judy was born to the late Henry H. Hilton and the late Virgie Mae Rutherford Hilton on May 25, 1949 in Kingsport, TN.
Judy loved life and she found joy in all aspects of her life. She loved traveling and picnicking in the outdoors and going shopping with her sisters. She had a sweet spirit that her family will always cherish. Judy was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her four sisters, Nancy Riner and husband Grady, Shirley Newman and husband Hal, Ruby Kilgore, and Patricia Slaughter and husband Johnny; two brothers, William H. Hilton and wife Maxie, and James C. Hilton and wife Yvetta; special friend, Tammy Starnes; and a host of family members and friends. The family would like to send a special thanks to the Judy’s caregivers at Sunrise Care Center in Greeneville and the caregivers at Frontier Health in Kingsport.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Musick officiating. Special music will be provided by Jeff and Chris Newman. Interment will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 11:00 am at East Lawn Memorial Park in the Garden of the Good Shepherd. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Judy’s nephews, Jeff, Greg, Bruce, and John Allen.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the general fund at Holy Mountain Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN.
