Jack was born to the late Harold Allen and the late Elizabeth Huber Allen on March 28, 1931 in Hiawatha, Kansas. While serving in the United States Air Force, Jack was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany and it was there that he met his best friend and love of his life, Ms. Maria Theresia Gotz. On March 10, 1956 Jack married Maria, and after 60 years of a beautiful marriage and life together, she survives.
Jack bravely and unselfishly served his country in the United States Air Force. During his time of service, Jack received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Army Occupation Medal (Germany). Jack was a man who put other’s needs before his own and he loved spending time with his family. Jack enjoyed archery deer hunting, camping, and sports. He played football for Kansas University and he was a licensed private pilot. After his time in the United States Air Force, Jack worked as a U.S Government Radar Meteorologist at Tri Cities Airport for 38 years before retiring. He will be remembered as being a great man, and one of the best Santa Clauses at the Kingsport Mall. Jack touched many lives; he will never be forgotten.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Jeffrey Allen. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Maria Allen; son, Erich Allen and wife Pam; daughter-in-law, Tina Allen; and four grandchildren, Sierra Allen, Logan Allen, Amanda Everett and husband Daniel, Ashley Bishop and husband Jessie.
