Harold was a godly man and proud member of NorthStar Baptist Church. He served in the Korean War and, after his honorable discharge, later retired from Raytheon as a machinist. Harold will be remembered as a loving father, husband, and grandfather; his kind and giving spirit will never be forgotten.
Along with his parents, Harold is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Betty Tate Mitchell; eldest son, David Mitchell; and sister, Peggy Cunningham.
Survivors include his children, Danny Mitchell (Kimberly), Lou Ann Jones (Kevin); and grandchildren, Zac, Lincoln (Sarah), Chloe, Walker Mitchell, and Madi Jones.
The Mitchell family will gather to greet friends and share memories on Saturday July 30, 2022 in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home at 12 pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 1 pm with Rev. James Sproles officiating. Following the Funeral Service, a Graveside will be held at 2 pm in the Garden of Good Shepherd in East Lawn Memorial Park; grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
