Frances Lee Phillips, 84, entered into the arms of our Heavenly Savior during the evening hours of Tuesday (December 18, 2018) following a brief illness. Frances was born on November 13, 1934 in Kingsport, TN to the late John B. & Dovie Hattie (Morelock) Smith.
Frances has been a dedicated member of Walkers Fork Baptist Church since early childhood. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and quilting. Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend; she will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray H. Phillips; sister, Elsie Jones; brother Everett Ray Smith; and special friend, Ruth “Luke” Cox-Cline.
Left to cherish her memories are sons, Randy Phillips & fiancée Theresa and Marty Phillips & wife Julie; daughter, Vicky Dickerson; two sisters, Mildred Cox and Shirley Wright; six grandchildren, Brandi Crawford & husband Tony, Chris Dickerson & wife Brittany, Carly Phillips, Rachel Phillips, Kendall Phillips, and Anna Orndorff; great-granddaughter, Ellie “little-bit” Crawford; special friend forever and always, Pauline Rogers; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday (December 21, 2018) from noon to 2 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor David Bolden officiating.
Frances will be laid to rest beside her husband on Friday (December 21, 2018) at 3 p.m. in the Garden of David at East Lawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Walkers Fork Baptist Church (6441 Lone Star Road Kingsport, TN 37660).
