Claude Eugene Taylor, 80, entered into the arms of our Savior during the early morning hours of Sunday (December 2, 2018) surrounded by his loving family. Claude was born on August 15, 1938 to the late Mack Bert & Mary Pauline (Joyce) Taylor in Kingsport, TN.
Claude has been a dedicated member of Reedy Creek Presbyterian Church since 1942, where he later joined the choir. He unselfishly served our country in the United States Army National Guard. Claude retired from Eastman Chemical in 1999 after 32 years of service. Claude was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend; he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Alwayne Lunsford; and nephew, Timothy Lunsford.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 25 years, Berniece Taylor; daughters, Amy Claudette Bender & husband Keith and Jill Taylor Parsons; two step-daughters, Sheri Blankenbeckler and Amanda Byerley; step-son, Brent Anderson & wife Cindy; sister, Anna Lee Lunsford; nephew, Gregory Lunsford; grandchildren, Sophie Bender, Fiona Bender, Lucy Bender, Quin Parsons, Zack Parsons, Olivia Parsons, Hunter Blankenbeckler, Dylan Byerley & wife Liz, Lauren Knowles & husband Billy, Andrea, Chloe, and Jacob; two great-grandchildren, Cooper Blankenbeckler and Ezra Knowles; and a host of friends.
The family will greet guests and share memories on Friday (December 7, 2018) from 12:00 noon to 2 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Marshall Steinle officiating.
Claude will be laid to rest on Friday (December 7, 2018) at 3 pm in Christus Garden at East Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Lunsford, Quin Parsons, Zack Parsons, Hunter Blankenbeckler, Dylan Byerley, and Joe Haynes. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Robertson, David Thomas, John Thomas, Ernie Williams, Brent Anderson, Scottie Deel, David Johnson, friends from Reedy Creek Presbyterian Church, and Cedar View Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Reedy Creek Presbyterian Church Choir (6044 Orebank Road, Kingsport, TN 37664).
