Brenda Joyce Kell Turner, 71, of Kingsport, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport. Born on November 16, 1943 in Canton, NC, she was the daughter of the late Reverend William Lester Kell, Jr. and Louise Pace Kell. Mrs. Turner loved scrapbooking and enjoyed making cards, all different types of crafts, woodworking and painting. She and her husband were members of Free Gospel Mission Church in Kingsport. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mr. and Mrs. Turner owner and operated Ted E Bear Academy for 19 years in Waynesville, NC, Blountville, TN and in Bristol, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend William Lester Kell, Jr. and Louise Pace Kell. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William O’Neil Turner; daughters, Stephanie Jones and her husband, Steve; Debbie Tolbert and her husband, Tee; and Sharon Turner; grandchildren, Chris Ferrell and his wife, Cheyenne; Brandon Ferrell and his wife, Tasha; Kylee Tolbert; Zachary Tolbert; Caleb Tolbert; Joseph Colandria and his wife, Claudia; Rebekah Jones; Crystal Jones; Ashley Jones and Andrew Jones; and brothers, Max Benny Kell and his wife, Dianne and David Kell and his wife, Linda. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, January 20, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with the Reverend Vern Hall officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service in the Garden of Gethsemane of East Lawn Memorial Park.
