Margaret Mary Allen, 87, passed away peacefully at the Grand Traverse Pavilions on Thursday, August 22nd, 2019 with family by her side. She was born May 1st, 1932 to Julius and Mabel (Meisch) Schichtel of Hannah, MI.
Margaret was a graduate of Buckley School. She was married to Max Allen for over 40 years, but was widowed in September of 1996. They were blessed with four daughters. Margaret was a loving mother and devoted wife. She accompanied Max in his licensed carpenter business. She was the accountant, painter, errand runner and interior designer. She also worked at Sara Lee pie factory for over 25 years. She enjoyed sewing, garage sailing, and dancing to country music. She was loved by nephews and nieces as “Aunt Marge”.
She is survived by her four daughters LuAnn (Ike) Kroupa of Buckley, Sue (Mark) Radcliffe of Buckley, Cindy (Kevin) Bartz of Grawn, and Karen Robbins and Paul Pellegrino of Grawn. She was blessed with six Grandchildren, Nickolas Kroupa, Jeremy Radcliffe, Bradley Radcliffe, Alyssa Povey, Matt Bartz and Hunter Robbins. Rewarded with 9 wonderful great-grandchildren.
She has five surviving siblings, Mary Smith, Jerry Schichtel, Dave Schichtel, Norman Schichtel, and Linda Crain. Proceeded in death five siblings, Lucille Schichtel, Alice Zakrajsek, Arnold “Bud” Schichtel, and Kathie Yuresko.
Join us in celebrating the life of our loving mother on Monday, August 26th, 2019 at the Covell Funeral Home in Kingsley from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm for the visitation. The wake will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on West Silver Lake Road on Tuesday, August 27th, 2019 at 10:00 am. Proceeded by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, with a luncheon following at the church. At 2:30 pm, we will meet at St. Mary’s of Hannah Cemetery to lay Margaret to her final resting spot, next to her blessed husband, Max. May the Lord bless and keep her in his heavenly home.
