Mr. Willie L. Graham, 70, passed away August 5 at Olin E. Teague Veteran’s Hospital. Visitation for Mr. Graham is scheduled for Thursday, August 11, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Services are scheduled for Friday, August 12 at 10:00 am at Crawford-Bowers Chapel with burial following at Central Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery.
Mr. Graham was born February 13, 1941 in Oviedo, Florida to Leroy and Victoria (Robinson) Graham and lived in the Central Texas area for 20 years. He joined the U. S. Army as a young man and proudly served his country until he retired in 1980. Mr. Graham was awarded the Good Conduct Medal (Sixth Award), Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and also received a Meritorious Unit Citation.
Mr. Graham was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. His proudest moments were the birth of his son and daughter as well as being a “surrogate parent” to many throughout the years. He felt his proudest career accomplishment was his ability to serve in the U. S. Army, protect his fellow men and his country, and work with the Veteran’s Administration. Mr. Graham’s proudest civic accomplishments and involvements were when he volunteered his services to those in need. Mr. Graham belonged to the Bob Gilmore Senior Center.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Tanya, a son, Darius Graham of Winter Park, FL., a daughter, Shannon Graham of Gatesville, TX, a brother, Eldridge Graham of Orlando, FL., two sisters Martha Hill of Oviedo, Fl. and Cleona Lewis of Brunswick, GA, and a prodigal son, Manuel Keaton of Modesto, CA.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
