Nita Wanette Word

Nita Wanette Word, 76 passed away peacefully at her home on October 2,2022. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Crawford-Bower Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Memorial Baptist Church on October 13th at 10:00 am with Pastor Justin Moss presiding along with soloist Julie Reese. The burial will follow at Maxdale Cemetery. Wanette was born on March 14,1946 to Leroy and Lawanda Parker of Killeen. She was a life long resident of Killeen and member of the Memorial Baptist Church since 1961. It was at Memorial Baptist Church, she met the love of her life Bob. They married on July 22, 1963 and shared 59 years together. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Wanette loved life, she enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the deer and hummingbirds. She was always

laughing or smiling and had a good sense of humor. In 2011, Wanette retired from her job at HEB after 15 years.

Wanette is proceeded in death by her parents, Leroy and Lawanda Parker and her brother

She is survived by her husband Bob Word and two sons Scotty Word, Randy and wife Wendy Word, 7 grandchildren; Kristan and husband Travis Scott, Justin and wife Torrey Word, Jordan

and wife Brittany Word, Ashley and husband Alberto Coss, Haley and husband Nick Strong, Kelsey and husband Ronnie Hirstius, Brandyn Word and 8 great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Lynn Parker, 2 nephews Brent and wife Amiee Parker and Ronnie and Marissa Parker, Jr.
