Mikey served 9 years in the United States Army. He served 2 tours in Afghanistan in support of the Global War on Terrorism. He earned several awards to include the Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/3 campaign stars; Army Accommodation Medal (4th Award); Army Achievement Medal (7th Award); Meritorious Unit Commendation (2nd Award); Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award); National Defense Service Medal;
Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Korea Defense Service Medal; Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (2nd Award); Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon (3rd Award); NATO Medal (2nd Award) and Air Assault Badge.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his Mom, Michelle Hatch; his Dad, Michael Scott Mankin; His Sister, Pilar Neal and her husband Richard Neal of Oakley, California; Children, Jaide Mankin and Luke Mankin; Girlfriend, Jade Martinez, former spouse, Anna Mankin, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Visitation for Michael (Mikey) Scott Mankin II will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home. A Service will occur Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM followed by a Committal Service with Military Honors at 1:00 PM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
