He was born January 18, 1956 in Michigan to Lester J. Jackley and Helen T. (Kelemen) Jackley.
Colonel Jackley served proudly in the United States Army from July of 1981 until his retirement in January of 2010. While serving he received the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal , the Army Achievement Medal , the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Korean Defense Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Nato Medal and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal.
He was preceded in death by parents and brother, Jon Jackley.
He is survived by his brother, Mark Jackley and his wife Susan of San Antonio, TX; his sister Pam Death and her husband Donald of CA.; three nephews, Steven Jackley and his wife Michele of Leander, TX; Justin Jackley of Round Rock, TX and Preston Death of CA; two nieces, Lauren Jackley of San Antonio, TX and Jennifer Death of CA; an aunt, Shirley Jackley, San Antonio, TX; two great nieces, Camden and Elizabeth Jackley of Leander, TX; and many loving friends and military personnel.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2011 at Crawford –Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen with Pastor Tracey Honey officiating.
Interment services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery by Caisson with full Military honors.
In place of usual remembrances the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Fisher House, Santa Fe and Wratten Drive, BLDG 36015, Fort Hood, Texas 76544-4752.
Services have been entrusted to the care of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 South Ft. Hood Road, Killeen, Texas 76542.
