He was born June 30, 1931 in Franklin, Pennsylvania to Howard James and Leona Coulter Kilgore.
He attended Rocky Grove High School in Franklin, PA, then attended Pittsburgh School of Trades and completed his Associate of Applied Science in Maintenance Technology from Central Texas College. He served honorably in the US Army from 1949-1979 and later worked for the Department of Federal Housing.
Donald Kilgore married the love of his life, Sonoko Yoshikawa on July 26, 1957 in Tokyo, Japan.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James Kilgore and Lawrence Kilgore; and 5 sisters: Ruth O’Neil, Mary Updyke, Grace O’Neil, Florence Scrivens, and Alice Beatty.
He is survived by his wife, Sonoko Yoshikawa Kilgore; sons: Donald Alexander Kilgore Jr. and wife Dael of Copperas Cove, TX, David Allen Kilgore and wife Kim of Santa Fe, TX, and Daniel Alton Kilgore of Killeen, TX; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Paul Kilgore.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Killeen Memorial Baptist Church debt retirement fund in Donald’s name.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, Killeen. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Memorial Baptist Church.
