Mr. Beeksma died peacefully, March 31, 2016 at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. He was born on January 13, 1937 to Bokkie and Edith Beeksma.
He graduated South Shore High School in 1955 and Central Texas College with a bachelor’s degree in 1982.
He honorably retired from the military in 1978; his decorations and awards include: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service and Campaign Medals, Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal and TET Offensive Medal. After his retirement from the Army, he went to work at the Rod and Gun Club at Fort Hood in the Hunt Control and Pro Shop.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Raymond Beeksma.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Natalie “Nat” Beeksma; sons: Scott Beeksma and his wife, Barbara, Troy Beeksma and his wife, Marcia; Brent Beeksma and his wife Earline; 10 grandchildren; 6-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
