Brenda was born to Iva Pearl Wilkens and Joseph Edward Godwin on August 25th, 1949 in Durham NC. She married her loving husband, Gene Spicer, in Belton Texas on December 23rd, 1985.
Brenda lived a fulfilling life as a mother, sister, and wife, but her prized role was grandmother to four special people. She loved her grandbabies unconditionally and poured her love into time spent with them. She enjoyed spoiling them as often as she could and never skipped the opportunity to take them shopping. She loved her four-legged babies and took them with her on her travel adventures. She especially liked making crafts for family and often helped Gene build keepsakes for her children and grandchildren. Anyone who met Brenda would tell you she was full of sass. It was paramount she put her best foot forward each and every day. She made an effort to have her hair and makeup just right before leaving the house for even the smallest errand and she encouraged all around her to look their best. She never met a stranger and talked to anyone that would listen.
She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Gene Spicer of Killeen, TX; her son Steven Creech and Melissa Hauan of Killeen, Texas; her son Gary Beach of Moore, OK; and her daughter Angie Sewell and husband Bryan Sewell of Blanchard, OK; her sister Joyce Sorrell of Durham NC; her precious grandchildren Desirae Beach of Moore, OK; Kassadi Hostrop of Killeen, TX; Corbyn Beach of Moore, OK; and Tansyn Creech of Killeen, TX; and Gene’s kids, grandkids and great grandkids and her many cousins, nieces and nephews. Brenda is preceded in death by her parents Iva Pearl Wilkens and Joseph Edward Godwin and her sister Dorislene Harrelson.
Family and friends are invited to gather Wednesday April 13th from 5 to 8 p.m. for the viewing at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home located at 1615 S Fort Hood St, Killeen, TX 76542.
