Wendell was a happy guy who made friends easily wherever he went. He was positively focused and always believed everything will work out.
He loved fishing and being outdoors. When he was younger, he spent a lot of time with his Shoomis (Gabe Fobister Sr.) and being at the trapline. He loved his family, especially his children.
He was predeceased by his grandparents Gabe Fobister Sr., John Fobister, Josephine Fobister, Alex Fobister, Gordon Loon and Audrey Assin, father-in-law John Satchekapo, his aunts Bridgette Fobister, Cheryl Assin and Melodie Assin, his great uncles Ronnie Loon, Steve Fobister, Simon Fobister and many cousins too numerous to mention.
He is survived by his parents Randy Fobister and Victoria Assin, his grandparents Agnes Fisher, William Fobister (Annette), Katherine Fobister, great aunts and uncles Ginny Loon, Louie and Roy Assin (Linda Necanepenace) and Patrick Land and Laura Land, his siblings Judy Fobister, Michael Assin (Eris), Jason Assin, Marc Fobister, his life partner Sarah Becker and his children Atticus, Lazarus, Zylus and Neveah. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law Becky and Davis Coaster and his brother-in-law Jonathan, sister in laws Brenda and Amanda. As well as his uncle's Gabriel Fobister Jr., Barry Assin, David Pahpasay, Paul White, Paul Petiquan and Nathan Assin, aunts Helen, Elaine, Becky, his first cousins Ashley, Amy, Lisa, Reggie, Bella, Kimiwan, Shakira, Tessa, Suekii, Shania, Kendaaz, Dustin, Gabrice, Brook, Nolan, Matt, Emmett, Justine, Jada, Macie, Elsie, Natasha, Malik Audrey, and Jayce. He will also be missed by his extended aunts, uncles and cousins from the Fobister, Assin, Fisher, Land, Loon and Necanapenace families.
A wake service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Agnes Fisher's Church, Grassy Narrows, Ontario. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 11:00 am at Agnes Fisher's Church. Wendell will be laid to rest in Fobister Island, Grassy Narrows, Ontario.
