It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother on April 2nd, 2020.
Shelley was predeceased by her partner Gary Turner, and her parents Del and June Munson. Left to cherish her memory are her children; Amanda McIsaac, and Sean Turner (Logan), her sister Carla Munson (Stu), her nephew Jake Ballantyne, and her grandchildren who she adored more than anything in this world; Jesse, Noah, Isabella, and Beau.
Shelley grew up in Kenora and on Lake of the Woods and loved being in ‘the bush’. She enjoyed spending her summers at camp on Fox Island surrounded by her immediate and extended family.
Shelley had a real green thumb and took great pride in her gardens over the years. She always had beautiful plants and flowers carefully placed both inside and out to add beauty to her space. She had an amazing eye for decorating and was very creative, organized and crafty in everything she did.
Shelley loved to cook and offer snacks and treats to anyone who came over. She would never let anyone go hungry, she was especially famous for her homemade French fries and delicious meatballs.
She will always be remembered as a selfless, loving and kind lady who was ‘like a mom’ to so many and was affectionately referred to as ‘Fuzzy Mama’.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the first responders, as well as family and friends who helped out during this difficult time.
A memorial in Shelley’s honour will be held in the summer, exact date and location to be determined at a later time.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a local charity of your choice.
